Malhas Amar
Mr Amar Malhas is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at the Royal Berkshire NHS trust. After completing extensive fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery he has been in post since 2016 and is the senior shoulder and elbow surgeon in the trust.
Having qualified in 2004 from King’s College London, he completed his training on the Birmingham and Dundee rotations. He then was a fellow, firstly, at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and then at the Wrightington Orthopaedic Hospital in its prestigious Upper Limb Unit.
At Reading he has a busy practice of sports injuries, degenerative soft tissue conditions and arthritis of the shoulder. He also runs a specialty service for shoulder and elbow trauma. He is the lead local PI for several multi-center studies and frequently participates as faculty in arthroplasty and arthroscopy courses. He runs a successful shoulder fellowship program, training specialist surgeons of the future.
